Srinagar, March 29 (GNS): Wildlife authorities on Sunday captured a leopard in Koil village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir. The department had been trying to capture the leopard since last week. The animal according to locals had killed many domestic animals. A team of the wildlife department captured the wild animal today morning, officials said. The leopard had killed several domestic animals in recent past. “We received several complaints from the local residents about the presence of the leopard. The animal was on the prowl in Koil, Malangpora and its adjoining areas since the last couple weeks,” they said. Confirming it, concerned Intisar Suhail, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) told GNS that the leopard had killed many domestic animals in recent past. “We had laid a trap and met with success today as the animal was captured by our team at Koil Pulwama,” the DFO said.
