Live Shell falls in front of a house, likely to be defused on Sunday

Srinagar, June 20 (GNS): Three persons received injuries in alleged firing along the Line of Control in Uri’s Hajipeer sector of north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The fresh exchange has come days after a women died in this forward area.
In the afternoon, SSP Baramulla Abdul Qayoom told GNS that there was shelling by Pakistan army in violation of the ceasefire agreement in Nambla Uri, resulting in injuries to Ahmed Din Sheikh, more than 60 years old, and Maqbool Mangral, who is in mid-20s.”
Another person identified as Parveena Begum sustained injuries late in the afternoon, taking the tally of injured persons to three. Parveena is said to be the wife of an Congress leader Dr. Shabir Ahmad, the sources said.
“All the injured persons were evacuated to sub-district Hospital Uri and were later referred to Government Medical College Baramulla for advanced treatment,” they said adding “All of them are said to be stable.”
Meanwhile, two teenagers identified as Idrees Mushtaq and Akhtara Bano sustained minor injuries while running helter-skelter amid shelling in the area, they said. “Both of them were discharged after first aid.”
In the meantime, reports said that a live shell was spotted in front of a house belonging to Suna Sofi in Nambla, adding “The family has been shifted to a safer place with the shell likely to be defused on Sunday.”
Pertinently, a woman was killed and two others suffered injuries in an exchange of fire between the two armies along the sector on Saturday last. (GNS)
