Srinagar, June 20: Police on weekend evening claimed to have apprehended three Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit associates in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.


A statement received here reads that the Sopore police in a joint operation alongside 22, 52 RR and 179/92 Bn CRPF arrested three militant associates of LeT outfit at Bomie and Tarzoo areas of the town.


Identifying the apprehended militants, Shabir Ahmed Mir @molvi son of Mohd Sultan Mir and Mohd Abbas Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir both residents of Brath Kalan Sopore and Fahim Nabi Bhat @Docter son of Ghulam Nabi Bhat, a resident of Tarzoo Sopore, the statement said that incriminating material including arms and ammunitions were recovered from their possession.


One Chinese pistol, two pistol and seventy-three pistol rounds from the possession of apprehended militants, the statement reads.
Meanwhile, an incident FIR under relevant section of law registered in Police Station Bomie and investigation taken up, the statement concluded.
