Wind Rips Roof Off, Young Woman Dies In Anantnag
Shopian/Anantnag, May 27 (GNS): A minor girl and a woman belong to nomad family were killed while one person was injured after a pine tree fell down due to heavy winds at Shukroo forests in Pehlipora Keller in Shopian district of south Kashmir.
Official sources said a Bakerwal family came under the tree in which a 10-year-old girl Babli daughter of Gami Bajran and a woman— Zaina Bano (50) wife of Abdul Qayoom of Akhnoor died on the spot.
They said that one more woman Shabnum (25) wife of Mustafa Bajran of Akhnoor sustained injuries and was evacuated to hospital Keller for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 24-year-old girl was killed after she came under tin sheet of a roof top blown away by high-speed winds at Bogam in Anantnag district on Wednesday afternoon.
Station House Officer Srigufwara Waseem Mir told GNS that Nuzhat Bashir daughter of Bashir Ahmad Khanday died in the incident.
“We have completed medico-legal formalities and body has been handed over to the family,” he added. (GNS)
