Srinagar, Sep 22 (GNS): Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone on Tuesday said that the NC-led government may not have provided 200 units of free electricity to consumers, but has admitted that Rs 251 crore will be collected extra from consumers on account of recent power tariff hike.
In a post on X, as per GNS Lone said, “The NC-led government may not have provided 200 units of free electricity to consumers, but it has admitted today, in response to my question, that Rs 251 crore will be collected from consumers on account of recent power tariff. It has also admitted that 11 lakh smart meters have been installed during its rule starting from October 2024.”
Lone has been questioning the government over its pre-poll promise of providing 200 units of free electricity to consumers of J&K.
The government in its reply in Assembly today said the proposal for providing 200 units free electricity is under examination.(GNS)
