7-year-old boy injured in Karnah Mishap, Driver Arrested M S Nazki/Jahangir Lolabi Bhaderwah , May 28: One person was killed and four others sustained injuries on Thursday after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident at Puneja area in Doda district, officials said. They said a vehicle (JK17-1659) turned turtle in Puneja , resulting in the death of a passenger and injuries to four passengers. Officials identified the deceased as Javid Ahmed son of late Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Chiralla Doda and the injured persons as Betaab Ahmed, Tasleema Begum, Manzoor Ahmed of and Titi Begum, all residents of Doki Chiralla. The injured persons were shifted to nearby District hospital Doda for treatment, sources tod GNS. Meanwhile, a minor was critically injured in a road mishap at Karnah tehsil on Thursday evening. Reports reaching GNS that a seven-year-old youth identified as Umair Ahmad Mir son of Giyas Mir was injured after hit by a vehicle. The minor has suffered severe injuries in his head and was evacuated to SKIMS Soura in critical conditions, the reports said. A police official confirming the incident told GNS a case (FIR 38/2020) under sections 279/337 has been registered and investigations to ascertain the cause of the mishap taken up.
