Srinagar: Two militants have been killed and an army man injured in an ongoing encounter at Singhpora in Chatroo area in Kishtwar district.
The encounter broke out this morning after security forces received specific inputs about presence of militants in the area.
The operation codenamed ‘Operation Trashi’, is being jointly carried out by troops of two Para SF, Army’s 11RR, 7th Assam rifles and SOG Kishtwar.
A group of three to four militants were reportedly said to be trapped in the area, out of which two have now been killed. An army man has in the meantime also sustained injuries and has been evacuated to hospital for immediate treatment.
Intermittent exchange of gunfire was on, when this report was being filed.
