Anantnag, Aug 29 (GNS): A 35-year-old patient from Kulgam died at a private hospital in Anantnag, following which his family alleged medical negligence and staged protest.
Officials told GNS that yesterday, one patient namely Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, son of Ghulam Nabi Wani, aged about 35 years, resident of Qaimoh Kulgam, was admitted to Mid City Private Hospital, KP Road, Naibasti Anantnag for kidney stone surgery.
After surgery his condition was stated to be stable. However, on August 29 his condition deteriorated and he breathed his last at the said hospital, officials said.
In this regard, the next of kin of the deceased alleged medical negligence on part of the doctors and held protest at the hospital. Police reached the spot to ascertain the facts and circumstances.
Meanwhile, Dr Zahoor Gilkar of Mid City Hospital, giving hospital’s version, said the patient was given PCNL. The patient was fine yesterday evening and oral medicines were also started.
“In the morning, he went for a walk around ward and there he collapsed. It could possibly be an embolism or a myocardial infarction (MI),” Dr Gilkar said, adding that autopsy report is pending.
He said otherwise the patient was stable and completely fine.(GNS).
