Police arrests 14 persons for violation of prohibitory orders in Handwara, seize 2 vehicles

Srinagar, March 26 (GNS): Handwara Police today arrested 14 persons and seized 02 vehicles for violating the Govt. orders issued U/s 144 CrPC over COVID-19.

In the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara 06 persons were arrested and 01 vehicle was seized for violating the orders issued U/s 144 CrPC.

While in the jurisdiction of Police Station Qalamabad, 07 persons have been booked for violating the orders issued U/s 144 CrPC.

Similarly in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vilgam, 01 person has been arrested and 01 vehicle was also seized for violating the prohibitry orders imposed by District Magistrate.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in the respective Police Stations and investigations have been taken up.

Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by District Magistrates in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restrictions will be dealt strictly. (GNS)
