Police Constable Found Dead in Jammu, Suicide Suspected

Srinagar, Mar 07 : A police constable, deputed as PSO of a lawyer, was found dead at his home in Lower Thater, with officials attributing the death to suspected suicide.

An official told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that one Sandeep Rakhwal, son of Chain Singh, was found in a pool of blood at his home. “He was soon after taken to GMC Jammu, where doctors declared him dead on arrival,” the official said, adding, “he had a bullet wound in his head.”

“He was deputed with a local lawyer as his PSO and given the nature of the injuries and circumstances around the site, it looks he had shot himself with his own rifle,” the official said further.

Confirming the death of the cop, a police official told Kashmir Bulletin that they have taken cognisance of the incident for further investigations. (KB)
