DH Pora (Kulgam): Sep 14: In a major development aimed at safeguarding public health, Kulgam Police have registered two FIR’s against stockiest and food sale points for storage and sale of rotten mutton items and other eatables in Sub-division DH Pora of Kulgam district.

An official told that on the directions of SSP Kulgam, Shri Sahil Sarangal (IPS), the Kulgam Police in coordination with the Civil Administration conducted a joint operation in Sub-division D.H. Pora to check the quality of meat being sold in the market.

“During the inspection, instances of rotten meat being sold to the public were identified. Acting promptly, the authorities seized and destroyed the unfit meat on the spot to prevent any health hazards”, he said.

In this regard, two FIRs have been registered — one at Police Station D.H. Pora and another at Police Station Manzgam. Samples of the suspected meat have also been taken for further examination and legal action is underway against the violators.

The Kulgam Police reiterates its commitment to public health and safety, and strict action will continue against those found endangering the well-being of citizens.
