Srinagar, Nov 30 : Praveen Kumar, IPS, currently serving as Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), on Sunday took over the additional charge of Director General, Border Security Force (BSF) the world’s largest border guarding force.
According to an official statement as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, he succeeded Daljit Singh Chawdhary, IPS, who superannuated today after completing his tenure with the force.
Praveen Kumar, a 1993-batch IPS officer of the West Bengal cadre, has served in various key positions during his 32 years of service, both in West Bengal and on central deputation.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen the operational and administrative functioning of the BSF. (KNC)
