Handwara, May 17 (GNS): At least five persons were left with injuries after a rabid dog struck local populace in Drangsoo Mawar area in Handwara on Tuesday.
Reports reaching GNS said that five persons namely Afroza Begum wife of Shabir Ahmed Lone, Mohsin Shabir son of Shabir Ahmed Lone, Imad Ahmad Khan son of Ghulam Ahmad Khan and Burhan of Dar son of Mashooq Ahmad Dar residents of Prangroo Mawer were injured in a rabid dog attack in Drangsoo Mawer village of Qalamabad Handwara.
The injured persons were taken to NTPHC Qalamabad where they were administered with vaccines.
Dr. Sajad Ahmad Khan in the meantime told GNS that all the persons are out of danger.
Meanwhile the people have appealed the authorities to initiate measures to curb the population of canines in the area. (GNS)
