Srinagar, September 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed the Legislative Assembly that 149 family-wise relief cases linked to flash floods and landslides in Rajouri constituency have been received, with ₹40.61 lakh disbursed to affected families under prescribed SDRF norms.
The Government further stated that ₹2.81 crore was released from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for affected families and the amount has been distributed according to approved norms.
On infrastructure restoration, the Government said a preliminary assessment has identified damage to roads and bridges, and a proposal for permanent restoration of 403 roads/bridges has been prepared at an estimated cost of ₹185 crore.
The Power Development Department has assessed ₹2,799.16 lakh damage to electrical infrastructure across Rajouri district, of which ₹939.24 lakh pertains to Rajouri Assembly Constituency. Temporary power restoration was undertaken, while permanent restoration of the 132-KV Rajouri–Draba transmission line is under tendering.
The Government also informed the House that damaged roads, bridges, water supply and power schemes were temporarily restored within a month, while detailed project reports for permanent restoration are under consideration.
The reply assumes significance as the Government has placed before the Assembly a detailed financial and infrastructure restoration plan following the flood and landslide damage in Rajouri.(KNC)
