Srinagar, Dec 29 : A massive fire broke out in a three-storey residential house at Lal Bazar area of Srinagar on Monday morning, causing extensive damage to the structure.
Officials told news agency KNC that the fire engulfed the residential building, triggering panic in the locality. Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the alert and launched firefighting operations.
Several fire tenders were pressed into service to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby houses. Strenuous efforts, are underway to brought fire under control.
No casualties were reported in the incident so far, officials said, adding that the cause of the fire was not immediately known. An assessment of losses is being carried out.
