Restrict Outdoor Movement, Follow Lockdown Guidelines: DM Kupwara

Srinagar, May 30 (GNS): Amid detection of new cases, District Magistrate Kupwara has directed people to restrict outdoor movement and strictly follow the guidelines of Lockdown in the district.

District Magistrate, Anshul Gargh while talking to GNS said that, people should maintain caution and strictly restrict their outdoor movement while at the same time follow the set Lockdown guidelines in letter and spirit.

 “Our office has over the time received several representations by people from Drugmulla, asking for removal of Red Zone status,” he said, adding, “now that situation demands, I have asked Tehsildar concerned and other relevant agencies to up the vigil in all areas of the district.”

He said that the relaxations earlier extended to the areas including Drugmulla stand withdrawn for next few days till “we trace the contacts of the detected cases.”

He also warned the miscreants who are stirring panic among the people by spreading misinformation.

“Any such person who is liable for spreading of misinformation or romours will be strictly dealt as per law,” he said.

When asked about the medical emergencies that arising out in the Red zone areas, he said that all such emergencies are being dealt with, at Old-block of Kupwara and PHC Drugmulla. “Doctors available at these centres are treating the patients with proper protocol”, he said, adding, “on any emergency people can still ask for help on dedicated number 108.”

Expressing satisfaction over the number and capacity of quarantine facility centres in the district, he said: “There are enough quarantine centres with twenty-two hundred bedding capacity laced with all basic facilities, in the district.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the areas including Kachloo and Drugmulla saw detection of few positive cases over last days, which has alerted the administration. (GNS)
