Srinagar, Sep 04: Police in Heerpora Shopian have arrested seven individuals and recovered ₹5 lakh in cash, seven mobile phones and an object described as a “thunderbolt ball” (Trat Gol), officials said.
According to officials, the arrests and recoveries were made near Danish Resorts in Padpawan, Heerpora. Police also seized two Alto vehicles bearing registration numbers JK01AQ-1311 and JK03B-5955.
The arrested persons have been identified as Arshid Ahmad Wani, son of Mohammad Subhan Wani, resident of Khurri Batpora, Kulgam; Syed Gulzar Ahmad, son of Syed Qamar Din, resident of Lakhripora, Kulgam; Zahoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Habibullah Bhat, resident of Bagi Islam, Baramulla; Safeeruddin Mir, son of Haneef Mir, resident of Raj Ghat, Baramulla; Abdul Rashid Kirmani, son of Ghulam Nabi Kirmani, resident of Rawalpora, Srinagar; Mohammad Shafi Mir, son of Abdul Ahad Mir, resident of Zaloora, Sopore; and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bakloo, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bakloo, resident of Pushroo Shungas, Anantnag.
Officials said all seven individuals have been arrested and further details will be shared as the investigation proceeds.
