Srinagar Police Takes Decisive Action Against 23 Terror Associates and Miscreants

Srinagar May 17 2025 In a significant crackdown on subversive and criminal elements, the Srinagar Police have booked 23 individuals associated with proscribed terror outfits and involved in public disturbance under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The individuals, identified through meticulous investigation and dossier preparation by the Srinagar Police, have been detained and lodged in various jails across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 23 individuals, whose names and addresses have been disclosed, were found to be involved in activities detrimental to national security and public order. Despite facing multiple criminal cases and being bailed out by courts, they continued to engage in brazen acts of public disturbance and subversive activities against the nation.

A police statement, carried by (Kashmir Bulletin), said…that The Srinagar Police, after obtaining formal detention orders from the office of the District Magistrate, Srinagar, detained these individuals and lodged them in District Jails in Poonch, Udhampur, and Kot Balwal, Jammu. The move is part of a broader strategy by the J&K Police to systematically target and dismantle anti-national and anti-social infrastructure in Srinagar.

The individuals booked under the PSA include:

  1. Saqib Shafi Wani, resident of Baghi Sunder Bala Chattabal, Srinagar
  2. Waleed Aijaz Sheikh, resident of New Colony, Batmaloo
  3. Hashim Farooq Mir, resident of Ikhrajpora Rajbagh, Srinagar
  4. Sayar Ahmad Sheikh, resident of New Colony Batamaloo
  5. Tawseef Ahmad Khan, resident of Firdous Abad Batmaloo – Lane No. 15
  6. Showkat Ahmad Dar, resident of Dooha Mohalla Nishat Srinagar
  7. Ali Mohammad Rather, resident of Malfuk Hazratbal Srinagar
  8. Owais Farooq Lone, resident of Batagund Tral A/P Maisuma Srinagar
  9. Musaib Ahmad Khan, resident of Sector 07-Hamdania Colony Bemina
  10. Feroz Ahmad Najar, resident of Chandipora Harwan Srinagar
  11. Shabir Ahmad Ghulam, resident of Bagiyas Srinagar
  12. Sajid Shahnawaz Mir, resident of Firdous Abad Batmaloo
  13. Numan Qayoom Ganie, resident of Methan Chanpora, Srinagar
  14. Owais Altaf Bhat, resident of Padshahibagh Srinagar
  15. Junaid Zahoor Bangroo, resident of Malik Angan Fatehkadal Srinagar
  16. Muzaffar Farooq Mir, resident of Dangerpora, Shahzadpora Kanpora, Budgam
  17. Uneeb Naseer Mir, resident of Dangerpora Shahzadpora Kanpora, Budgam
  18. Irfan Ahmad Seeru, resident of Khankhal Sokhta Nawakadal Srinagar
  19. Fahad Bashir Sidique, resident of Akilmir Khanyar Srinagar
  20. Zubair Ahmad Lone, resident of Saidapora Eidgah Srinagar
  21. Faizan Yaseen Sheikh, resident of Kaka Sahab Jamalatta
  22. Ibrahim Rashid Ganie, resident of Moomina Abad Lane 05 Batmaloo Srinagar
  23. Abdul Hamid Ganie, resident of New Theed Harwan, Srinagar

The J&K Police have reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating criminal activities that prejudice the security and public order in the region, utilizing the full might of the law. The police have also issued a stern warning to those engaged in unlawful or disruptive activities, cautioning that the law will catch up with them sooner rather than later, and that every offender will face justice.

The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by the J&K Police to maintain peace and security in the region, and to counter any threats to national integrity.
