Efforts underway to repair machines: Medical Superintendent

Kulgam: Two out of six dialysis machines installed at District Hospital Kulgam have remained non-functional for the past three months, causing inconvenience to patients and increasing the load on the remaining machines.

Attendants of dialysis patients told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the limited number of functioning machines has led to prolonged waiting periods at the hospital.

“We bring our patients here for dialysis, but due to the limited number of functioning machines, we have to wait for a long time. The patients are already suffering, and prolonged waiting makes things more difficult,” some attendants said.

They further said that around 60 patients are on the waiting list for dialysis services at the hospital, adding to concerns over the availability of adequate facilities.

The attendants alleged that the issue has been brought to the notice of the concerned authorities several times, but the two machines have not been restored so far.

They appealed to higher authorities to intervene and ensure early repair and restoration of the machines.

Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Kulgam, Dr Syed Masood, told KNO that efforts are underway to restore the two non-functional dialysis machines.

He assured that the machines would be repaired and made functional at the earliest—(KNO)
