Srinagar, Aug 25 (GNS): Two persons were apprehended along with arms and ammunition during a search operation in Pulwama district.
Officials told GNS that during the intervening night of August 24 and 25, a Search and Destroy Operation (SADO) was launched by joint teams of Police Pulwama, Army 44RR and 183 Bn CRPF in general Yarwan forest area of village CB Nath Rajpora.
During the search, two individuals who were coming from the forest area towards CB Nath village in a suspicious manner were apprehended tactfully.
The duo has been identified as Latif Ahmed Deedad son of Ghulam Mohammad Deedad resident of Lassi Daban and Aijaz Ahmed Bajad son of Nazir Ahmed Bajad resident of Bun Kha Bamnoo.
On their search, one pistol, 12 pistol rounds and one hand grenade were recovered from their possession. Both suspects along with the recovered arms and ammunition have been taken into custody.
Meanwhile, search operation in the area is going on. (GNS)
