Uri, Feb 2 (GNS): Wild animals have created panic among the people in several villages of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to reports, wild animals are seen in far-off villages of Uri including Shadara, Chaper Dulanja and Ladibal Nambla falling near LoC.
Locals said that due to panic they have restricted their children from going out of their houses and even stopped them from going to mosques.
A resident of Shahdara Uri Abdul Qayoom Khan told GNS that his 13-year-old daughter Gosya was attacked by a leopard on Monday evening when she was outside her home. “She suffered minor injuries,” he said.
Another resident of Sahdara Nazir Ahmad said that wild beasts killed several cattle in their area last week.
Locals of Ladibal Nambla Uri also said wild animals have created panic among people from the last few days. They said the animals killed several sheep in the area on Monday.
An official of the Wildlife Department told GNS that a team will be sent to these areas to ascertain the situation. (GNS)
