As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the deceased has been identified as Bilal Ahmad Mir, son of Late Ab. Rehman Mir, a resident of Yarhole Baihama, Qazigund.

Reports said that Bilal Ahmad Mir sustained serious injuries in an accident near Ashajipora and was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag for advanced treatment.

However, the bereaved family has alleged that despite his critical condition, timely medical attention was not provided at the hospital.

They alleged that due to the absence or delay of essential medical staff at crucial moments, his condition deteriorated, eventually leading to his death.

“He was struggling for life, but no immediate response was given. If proper and timely treatment had been provided, he might have survived,” a family member alleged, demanding strict action against those responsible.

The family has sought a fair and transparent investigation into the incident and urged authorities to examine the functioning of the hospital administration and fix accountability.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent (MS) GMC Anantnag Dr Arshad Hassan Siddiqie said the matter will be thoroughly investigated and assured that strict action will be taken if any negligence is established.

The incident has also sparked concern among locals, who have raised questions over emergency healthcare services at GMC Anantnag and urged authorities to strengthen patient care facilities and response mechanisms. (KNC)
