Bandipora, July 02: A 23-year-old youth lost his life after his tractor plunged into a water canal in the Watrina area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, officials said.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the youth allegedly lost control of the tractor, causing it to plunge into the canal.
He said locals and rescuers rushed to the spot immediately after the accident and shifted the injured youth to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased was later identified as Yasir Ahmad Dar (23), a resident of Watrina in Bandipora.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation.—(KNO)
