MHA Repatriates Rana from Central Deputation; Posted to Jammu & Kashmir with Immediate Effect
NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 2: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has ordered the posting of senior IPS officer Danesh Rana to the Jammu & Kashmir segment of the Joint AGMUT Cadre following his repatriation from Central Deputation.
According to an official order issued by the MHA on September 1, 2026, Danesh Rana, IPS (AGMUT: 1996), has been posted to the Jammu & Kashmir segment of the Joint AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect and until further orders.
The order was issued with the approval of the Competent Authority and signed by Rakesh Kumar Singh, Under Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs.
Rana, a 1996-batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, had been serving on Central Deputation. Following his repatriation to the cadre, he has now been assigned to the Jammu & Kashmir segment of the Joint AGMUT Cadre.
The Ministry issued the posting order under No. 14046/59/2023-UTS.I dated September 1, 2026.
The order takes effect immediately and will remain in force until further orders.(KNC)
