Poonch, April 22 (GNS): Authorities in Poonch district on Wednesday suspended three employees for violating the lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic.

“On 24 -04-2020 at about 11:300 AM  the employees were found unnecessary venturing outside their homes during the emergency lock down and their movements passes have been sized by undersigned near Sher-e-Kashmir bridge Poonch,” reads an order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav.

According to the order the employees found violating prohibitory orders include Qadir Ahmed (Health official Posted at District Hospital Poonch), Shaktipal (PHE, Posted at Pumping Station D/W No. 03 near Christ School Poonch) and Imtiyaz Malik (Department PHE).  

“COVID-19 has been declared as notified disaster and this office has issued certain restrictions under section 144 CrPC and Disaster Management Act 2005 in order to contain the spread of CoVID-19,” the order reads.

The movement passes have been issued to the officials for operating official duties which are valid for movement from residence to workplace only but they are found misusing these movement passes, reads the order.

“The people those wandering outside of their homes unnecessarily and making crowd as such activities would help spread the Coronavirus”.

Keeping in view of such lackadaisical attitude on part of these employees and due to non-compliance of orders, the above officials are placed under suspension with immediate effect, the order reads.

“Meanwhile, Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Executive Engineer PHE Poonch shall initiate disciplinary action against the above said officials under CSC Rules and submit action taken report to this office at an earliest,” the order added. (GNS)
