Srinagar, Aug 26 (GNS): Five Terror associates were apprehended along with arms and ammunition during a joint Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district, officials said on Wednesday.
Officials told GNS that today, a joint CASO based on JKP human intelligence was launched by 9 RR, Kulgam Police and 18 Bn CRPF in general area Bugam Orchard.
“During the search, five Terror associates were apprehended,” he said.
The apprehended have been identified as Furkhan Ahmad Wani (22), son of Mohd Younis Wani, resident of Bugam, Sohaib Ahmad Pala (20), son of Mohd Pala, resident of Bugam, Salman Abbas Lone (20), son of Mohd Abbas Lone, resident of Bugam, Nidash Ahmad Reshi (22), son of Gul Mohammed Reshi, resident of Nanibugh and Faizal Akbar (30), son of Mohd Akbar Dar, resident of Redwani Payeen.
During the search, the following recoveries were made: 04 x 9 mm Pistols, 04 x Pistol Magazines, 22 x 9 mm Pistol rounds and 02 x Hand Grenades, it said.
Further investigation has been taken up. (GNS)
