Kupwara, Jan 27: After three days of suspension, District Administration Kupwara on Wednesday allowed vehicular traffic movement on strategic roads including Chowkibal, Tanghdar and Keran.

Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Imam-ud-Din told Kashmir Glory that “In concerted efforts put in place by District Administration and 109 RCC, the surface connectivity to Chowkibal, Tanghdar Road (CTC Road) and Meelyal Keran (MPD) was restored after kept in suspension for last three days in aftermath of recent snowfall.”

The roads, as per the top-district officer, were thrown open after considerable improvement in weather conditions over the terrain.

“Vehicles carrying essential commodities besides limited passenger vehicles were allowed to ply on the roads, as to avoid traffic jams along the stretches”, the officer said.

The DC concerned has in the meantime, directed the concerned authorities to ensure that traffic rules are properly followed and to allow drivers with anti-skid chains attached to their vehicles. (KGNN)
