Police Organizes Drug Awareness Rallies in Kupwara

February 16: In a steadfast commitment to combat drug abuse and promote a drug-free society, police in Kupwara organized comprehensive drug awareness rallies in Sogam and Kralpora. These initiatives aimed to educate the public about the perils of drug addiction and galvanize community efforts against this growing menace.

The Police Station Sogam took a rally commencing from Government Degree College (GDC) Sogam to the Main Market Sogam. The event saw active participation from local residents, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Sogam, and a large contingent of students. DySP PC Lolab Raeis Ahmad-JKPS, alongside SHO PS Sogam lead the rally. Participants marched through the main thoroughfares, vocally opposing drug abuse and displaying informative placards to raise awareness.

Similarly, Police Station Kralpora conducted an awareness rally targeting drug abuse within the community. The march led by DySP DAR Kupwara Syed Mujahid-ul-Haq-JKPS and SHO PS Kralpora, commenced from Government Higher Secondary School Kralpora and proceeded through the main market area. The rally was attended by BDO Kralpora, the school principal, other officials, students, and the general public. Participants chanted slogans and displayed banners advocating for a drug-free lifestyle.

These events highlighted the collective resolve of the public in these areas to confront and eradicate drug abuse. Participants pledged to unite in this endeavour, aiming to secure a healthier future for the youth and the broader society.
