June 28: As part of the comprehensive security preparedness for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY-2026), Police in Anantnag conducted a mock drill simulating a grenade attack scenario at Grend Aishmuqam.

The exercise was aimed at evaluating the preparedness, coordination, and swift response of security agencies in handling emergency situations during the Yatra. The drill involved a simulated grenade attack, followed by immediate area sanitization, evacuation of civilians, casualty management, traffic regulation, cordoning of the affected area, and search operations.

Personnel from Police, CRPF, SDRF, Fire & Emergency Services, Health Department, and other allied agencies actively participated in the exercise, demonstrating seamless inter-agency coordination and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Police remains committed to ensuring a safe, secure, and peaceful environment for all pilgrims and members of the public during the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. Such mock drills form an integral part of the security strategy to enhance preparedness and ensure an effective response to any contingency.
