Ganderbal, June 28: Sixty-two officials of the Education Department have reported at Yatri Niwas Baltal and the RFID Building to perform duties related to RFID generation, e-KYC verification and on-the-spot registration of pilgrims for the annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.

The officials were deputed by the Office of the Chief Education Officer, Ganderbal, in pursuance of directions issued by the district administration to ensure the smooth functioning of registration facilities at the Baltal base camp. They had been instructed to report at their respective places of deployment on June 27 and remain available for duty throughout the Yatra period or until further orders.

The order also laid down detailed operational guidelines for the deputed staff, directing them to maintain punctuality, discipline and professional conduct while dealing with pilgrims. Officials were instructed to report to their designated nodal officers immediately upon joining and mark their attendance as prescribed.

The Chief Education Officer’s office also directed that user IDs, login credentials, digital access and government equipment provided for official work must be used only by the concerned officials. Sharing of passwords, OTPs or allowing unauthorized access to the registration system was strictly prohibited, while any unauthorized alteration of login credentials was made liable for disciplinary action.

The order further emphasized that officials shall not leave their place of deployment without prior permission and must ensure complete confidentiality of pilgrims’ personal data while immediately reporting any technical issues or operational difficulties to the designated nodal officers.

It also stated that salaries of the deputed officials would be drawn and disbursed by their respective Drawing and Disbursing Officers on the production of attendance certificates issued by the nodal officer of the RFID centres.

The officials have been deployed at both the New Building of Yatri Niwas Baltal and the RFID Building to facilitate registration-related services during the annual pilgrimage. [KNT]
