Parents Warned Against Extra Charging; Board Says Only Notified Rates Are Valid

Srinagar, Nov 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has issued a revised fee structure for various examinations and courses, directing that the new rates come into effect immediately. The notification specifies official examination fees for Class 10th, 11th and 12th, along with updated charges for D.El.Ed, Diploma in Elementary Education, Physical Education certificate courses and late fee schedules.

According to the notification, the examination fee for Class 10th regular students has been fixed at Rs 1240, while candidates with additional subjects will pay Rs 1460. Private, reappear and English-only cases will also be charged Rs 1240. For Class 11th and 12th, the fee for regular candidates with five subjects is Rs 1435, and Rs 1690 for those with additional subjects. Private and reappear candidates will pay Rs 1435.

The Board has also notified Rs 1490 as the fee for both regular and reappear candidates for the one-year Diploma in Elementary Education. The Certificate Course in Physical Education has been fixed at Rs 1260 for both regular and reappear candidates.

The late fee for submission of admission forms for Classes 10th, 11th and 12th will be Rs 810 for the first count of ten days and Rs 2085 for the second count. For the two-year D.El.Ed course, the fee is Rs 3510 for both regular and reappear candidates, with late fee slabs of Rs 1125, Rs 2260 and Rs 3380 respectively.

Parent groups have urged the public to remain vigilant and ensure that no school or agent charges more than the officially notified rates. They said any additional demand must be reported to authorities.
