Raids Underway at Multiple Locations in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara and Bandipora; Online Terror Propaganda Under Probe
Srinagar, August 08: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Saturday launched a major search operation at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley in connection with an ongoing investigation into a terror-related case involving alleged online glorification of terrorism and recruitment of individuals into terrorist ranks, officials said.
According to officials, CIK teams carried out simultaneous searches at several locations in Baramulla, Shopian, Anantnag, Kupwara, Bandipora and other parts of the Valley.
The searches are being conducted in connection with FIR No. 03/2023, registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under Sections 505 and 153-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections **13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Officials said the investigation concerns the alleged use of online platforms for promoting and glorifying terrorism, besides attempts to influence, radicalise and recruit vulnerable individuals into terrorist organisations.
The CIK teams searched the identified premises to collect documents, digital devices and other material that may assist the investigation, officials said.
The operation was underway when this report was filed. Authorities have not yet disclosed details regarding the outcome of the searches, including any recoveries, detentions or further legal action.Further details are awaited.(KNC)
