Poonch, Apr 16 (GNS): Dozens of migrant labourers arrived from different states of the country were stranded in the border district, even as the lockdown called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi enters 23rd day on Thursday. The labourers while talking to GNS claimed that they are ‘without food and other basic necessities.’ “We were highly optimistic to return once the Lockdown would have been lifted on April 14,” they said. “We even had packed all our belongings while expecting to return to our homes on April 14 only, they said adding the further extension (in lockdown) was no less than a calamity.” Urging the administration to consider the issues, the labourers appealed concerned Deputy Commissioner to take the issues on a priority basis. Pertinent to mention here that a countrywide Lockdown was clamped on March 24 which was further extended to May 3, on Tuesday last.
