CRPF troopers fired self defense: Police on Anantnag firing incident

Srinagar, October 07:(GNS) Police on Thrusday said that CRPF personnel fired in self defense leading to killing of a person in Anantnag district of South Kashmir.

“A Naka was established by 40 Bn CRPF at Monghal Bridge .A suspected vehicle without number was tried to intercept by the Naka party,” reads a police statement send to GNS, adding, “however it rushed towards the Naka party. It was then challenged by the on duty troops.Troops fired upon in self defence and one person died. But driver managed to escape, “.

Police said that identity and credential of deceased person is being verified. Details will be followed, the police added.(GNS)
