KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 28: In view of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review and finalize necessary arrangements for the people during the holy month of Ramadan.The DC directed all concerned departments to ensure the availability of essential services, including uninterrupted power and water supply, sanitation and market regulation. The KPDCL was instructed to provide uninterrupted electricity, particularly during Sehri and Iftar hours, while the Jal Shakti department was asked to ensure adequate water supply.Emphasizing cleanliness and hygiene, the DC instructed Municipal Committees to enhance sanitation efforts in towns and market places. Additionally, the Food and Civil Supplies Department was directed to conduct regular market inspections to regulate prices, prevent hoarding, and ensure the availability of essential commodities.The meeting was attended by ADC Kupwara, SDMs, Tehsildars, Executive Engineers from PDD and PHE and AD Food. Several other officers attended the meeting through virtual mode.The DC urged all stakeholders to work in coordination to provide the best possible services to the people of Kupwara during the holy month so that they do not face any inconvenience in offering prayers and fasting.
