Jahangir Lolabi Kupwara, Jun 23: The administration here on Tuesday declared Wani Mohalla village in Warnow area ‘Red zone’ and its surrounding villages buffer zones after detection of cases of novel Coronavirus pandemic in the area. Invoking prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC and Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 alongwith Disaster Management Act-2005, district magistrate, Kupwara, Anshul Gargh, in a order, of which a copy lies with GNS, said that there would be no inward and outward movement of any person from the village and people would stay in their homes to ensure complete lockdown. He warned stern action against the violators as per the provisions of the relevant laws. Tehsildar Lalpora being appointed as Administrator for red and buffer zones shall ensure the screening of households in the declared areas and furnish information to the office on a daily basis. The administrator would be assisted by Kifafatullah Shah (Master) High School Krusan and all the other officers of the line departments to ensure availability of all necessary items in both the red and buffer zones. The medical emergencies should be promptly addressed by concerned BMO, the official said. The concerned SHO shall ensure barricading of all entry points to the Red Zone area to prevent inward and outward movement without valid pass issued by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara and fumigation of other essential services departments allowed to enter for public service delivery, the official said. A fumigation team shall be engaged by the Administrator to ensure fumigation of the entire area on a regular basis.The order further reads that, two additional surveillance teams shall be deployed to cover all households in the Red Zone through door to door screening in next four days. Meanwhile, the offenders have been warned of strict action. “Anyone found in contravention of the directions would be dealt with sternly”, the order reads.
