Social media has undergone multiple changes over the years and by and large, it has been successful in bringing together the greater number of people across the world. It provides a platform, the world’s largest one, ever created to allow people to connect and interact with each other. Alongside each other, the world we see today is far different from what it was before Social Media emerged. The paradigm shift in our perceptions, way of doing business, exchange of innovative ideas and bridging the gap between people living as far as the North and South Pole. Parallel to all it’s positives, it has given birth to a new class among people, often informally known by the sobriquet of “Keyboard Warriors.” It stands as a universal truth that a change can be brought only if we act in unison by taking some constructive practical measures. Whining about the system every time and nullifying things in a destructive way can never yield positive results or for that matter a “Revolution.”A swarm of people keep busy themselves displaying their aggression, anger, vilifying criticism and derogatory trolling online which have had negative effects on the receivers. Instead of constructive criticism, such warriors resort to destructive forms of criticism via Social media. Far away from what could be done in practical life, they pass unwanted sermons and judgments on things, only to create the atmosphere of humiliation, and fulmination which most of the times take the shape of abuse, bullying, and collective troll. On collective terms, it sows the seeds of animosity and unhealthy aggression while as it can have adverse effects on one’s psychological health, on Individualistic terms. The trend, in more realistic terms needs to be guided in a right direction or predominantly, brought to a stop. The hardline approach on Social media yields nothing but negative ramifications and most importantly deviates away from the solutions and problem solving nature. In our part of the world, there is no dearth of such warriors who waste all of their energies disseminating negativity and furor while in real life, they turn out to be the “Handicapped Creatures” who lack the spine to change themselves, leave alone the society. We all should come out of this hidden online friction and strive to bring a positive change in realistic terms, instead.
