Kupwara, Sep 10: At least 15 shops were completely gutted in a major fire that broke out in Warnow area of Lolab in Kupwara district, causing substantial losses to local traders and severely affecting their livelihoods.
The fire caused major damage to the commercial establishments, destroying shops and property belonging to local traders. The incident has left the affected shopkeepers facing extensive financial losses and the difficult task of rebuilding their businesses.
The cause of the fire and the exact extent of the losses were not immediately known.
Expressing concern over the incident, Peoples Conference chairman and MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone appealed to the district administration to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected shopkeepers.
Lone urged the administration to conduct a prompt assessment of the losses and extend all possible support to the affected traders, stressing that timely intervention was necessary to help them recover from the setback.
