Srinagar, May 15 (GNS): Peoples Democratic Party on Saturday demanded compensation to the farmers “devastated” by hailstorm in Ganderbal.

In a statement, PDP leaders including Ghulam Rasool Shaheen, Abdul Majeed Larvi and Afaq Ahmad said that hailstorm has devastated farmer especially those associated with cherry and apple crop. “The hailstorm has wrecked havoc across the district, causing huge loss to cherry and apple crop farmers. The cherry crop is almost ripe and hailstorm has caused huge loss,” the leaders said in a statement to GNS, adding, “The government should come up with appropriate relief.” (GNS)
