Srinagar, Mar 6: (GNS) Forest Department officials on Saturday claimed to have seized illicit timber in Shadab, Karewa village in south-Kashmir’s Shopian district.
An official told GNS that approximately 29 feet was recovered from one Altaf Ahmad Mir a resident of Shadab Karewa. “The six other persons involved in act however escaped from the spot on the horses”, the official said.
“An FIR number 36/2021 under section 26 Forest Act has been registered against the persons and further investigations taken up”, the official added. (GNS)
