Uri (Baramulla) Mar 1 (GNS): At least twenty villages are facing blackout in Boniyar tehsil in north-Kashmir’s Baramulla district after a major lightening struck damaged a 6.3 MVA transformer at Noorkhah Receiving Station on Saturday last.
An official told GNS that the transformer was badly damaged on Saturday morning, which according to him, plunged villages like Lachipora, Mayan, Bijhama, Noorkhah, Bagna, Niloosa, Salamabad, Kanchan, Dachna into darkness.
Meanwhile, when contacted Assistant Executive Engineer Sub-transmission Division (STD) Javid Ahmad Waga, told GNS that the departmental teams are on job to rectify the damage on a fast track means.
He expressed hope that the electricity supply will be restored soon.(GNS)
