Urges Local Militants To Shun Violence, Return Home

Kupwara, Mar 14: General Officer Commanding (GoC) of Srinagar-based 15 Corps, Lieutenant General DP Pandey, on Monday inaugurated a computer center besides a nursing home at Government High School in Kunan Poshpora in frontier north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The GoC accompanied by several other officers was on a daylong visit to Kunan Poshpora.
The army officer interacted with the local populace on the occasion and gave a patient hearing to the grievances put forth by them.
Talking to media persons, the army officer said that it happened that a delegation from the area visited his office sometime back, making him aware of the difficulties faced by the locals. “And keeping my word, I have come here to visit them to take a firsthand account of the prevailing scenario”, the officer said.
The army officer inaugurated a computer training institute and a nursing home for the welfare of the local populace.
The army officer remarked that the Indian army was ready to fight any exigency along Line of Control. “Our men are ready to fight any infiltration on the Line of Control”, the officer said.
He on the eve also exhorted local militants to shun violence and return home. “Look towards your parents not towards the white-collar militants who are asking children of other people to become militants but themselves are living a comfortable life with their families”, the officer said adding you must stay away from such things as you are pillars of your family and country.
The army officer said that the Indian army was ready to lend any kind of help needed by the locals at any point of time.
He was accompanied by GOC 28 RR Commander Haji Peer brigade, CO 41 RR and other officers of the Indian Army.
Meanwhile locals of the area have thanked Lt. Gen DP Pandey for dedicating the computer center and nursing home to the public. Kashmir Glory News
