Victim’s father says case has been handed over to Crime Branch; expresses satisfaction with ongoing investigation
KISHTWAR, Aug 31: The father of the minor girl who was allegedly raped and murdered in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar has appealed that no person should file or pursue any case concerning the matter without his consent or thumb impression.
In a video circulating on social media, the victim’s father is heard saying that he had learnt that someone had filed a case in Jammu and appealed that no such legal proceeding should be initiated without his thumb impression.
“Maine suna hai ki kisi ne Jammu mein case file kiya hai. Mere anguthe ke bagair koi case file na kare,” he is heard saying in the purported video.
The victim’s father further stated that the investigation has been handed over to the Crime Branch, and said that he was satisfied with the development.
Father’s purported conversation with Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat
Meanwhile, another purported telephonic conversation circulating on social media features the victim’s father speaking with Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat, who has reportedly filed or is associated with a petition concerning the case.
During the reported conversation, the father allegedly requested that no case be pursued on his behalf, saying that the matter had already been handed over to the Crime Branch and that he was satisfied with the investigation.
He is heard saying, “My case has been handed over to the Crime Branch and I am satisfied with that. Whatever you will do, you would be responsible for that.”
