February 10: In a significant action against illegal liquor trade, Police in Kupwara have arrested a person and seized illicit liquor from his possession. A police team of Police Post Kalaroos, at a checkpoint established near Fire Service Station Kalaroos, intercepted a suspicious person identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat son of Khizar Ahmad Bhat resident of Kalaroos. During the search, 37 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and a case vide FIR No. 37/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kupwara and investigation has been initiated. J&K Police urges the citizens to come forward with any information related to drug or liquor Trafficking in their area, as community cooperation is vital in our fight against the social evils.
