Srinagar, Sep 08 (GNS): President Droupadi Murmu has assigned Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena to discharge the functions of Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir during the absence of incumbent J&K LG Manoj Sinha, who has proceeded on leave.

According to an official order, Saxena, who took over as the 4th Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh on March 13, 2026 after serving as LG Delhi from 2022-2026, will hold the additional charge of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir till Manoj Sinha resumes.

Manoj Sinha had assumed office as J&K LG on August 7, 2020. The tenure of a Lieutenant Governor is at the pleasure of the President and carries no fixed term.

Details regarding the duration of leave have not been disclosed yet.(GNS)
