Pir Aabid Srinagar, April 22 (GNS): Police on Wednesday recovered an unidentified male body from a mountainous region in Awoora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Reports reaching GNS said that some porters spotted the body trapped inside the snow at forest area of Jabri Mode near Puthkhan Gali- the mountainous region of Awoora village. The porters immediately informed the police post Awoora about it, they said. Immediately a police team led by Incharge SHO Police Post Awoora Nazir Ahmad Wani rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the snowbound area. When contacted the Incharge SHO told GNS that there are around 5 to 6 ft of snow present at Jabri Mode. The officer said that the body is that of person around 28 to 29 years old. It seems that the deceased might have got trapped under the snow in November – December last year as the body is semi decomposed. “His face seems to have been mauled by the wild animals,” the officer said, adding that the body has been taken to a nearby hospital and the postmortem will be conducted on it tomorrow. “Also, the efforts are on to identify the deceased”.
