Srinagar, July 28 (GNS): The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA), has prohibited the manufacture and sale of milk and milk products at a food business unit in Talangam Pulwama after an inspection found deficiencies in hygiene and sanitation.
During the inspection, conducted by the Food Safety Officer, Pampore, the premises of the unit operated by Suhail Maqbool S/o Mohammad Maqbool Sheergogri of Talangam, Pulwama, was found to be operating under insanitary conditions in violation of the hygiene and sanitary requirements prescribed under Schedule IV of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011.
Based on the inspection report, the Designated Officer, Food Safety, prohibited the manufacture and sale of milk and milk products from the premises in the interest of public health. The owner of the unit has been directed not to resume operations until the required corrective measures are taken and compliance with the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and the Rules and Regulations made thereunder is ensured.
