Srinagar, Aug 24(GNS): In continuation to the drowning incident reported yesterday, the body of the teenage boy who was feared drowned in Nallah Sindh has been retrieved today.
Officials told GNS that after an extensive search and rescue operation for the second consecutive day by SDRF teams from Bn. Hqrs. Srinagar, Ganderbal, Gund along with Police, 24 RR Army and local volunteers, the body was recovered from Nallah Sindh opposite Qamariya Ground near Degree College Ganderbal.
The deceased has been identified as Mohsin Ahmad Lone, son of Mukhtar Ahmad Lone, resident of Bamloora and student of Qamaria Model Higher Secondary School, Saloora.
The body was handed over to family after completion of medico-legal formalities.
The incident had occurred on Sunday near Qamaria Park when the boy went missing in the water body, following which a massive search operation was launched.(GNS)
