Rajouri, Sep 16 (GNS): The Chief Education Officer Rajouri has placed a teacher under suspension after a video allegedly showing him subjecting children to corporal punishment went viral on social media.

As per an order issued by the Office of the Chief Education Officer, Rajouri, a copy of which lies with GNS, it states that pending enquiry into the conduct of Nisaar Ahmed, Teacher, High School Kundal, and in view of a video clip having gone viral wherein he is allegedly seen subjecting children to corporal punishment, the matter warrants immediate attention and detailed enquiry.

Accordingly, Nisaar Ahmed, Teacher, HS Kundal, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, pending enquiry.

During the period of suspension, he shall remain attached with Middle School Chakli, Zone Khawas and shall not leave the station of attachment without obtaining prior permission from the competent authority, the order states.

It further states that he shall be entitled to subsistence allowance as admissible under rules during the suspension period.(GNS)
