Srinagar, Jul 25: President Droupadi Murmu on Saturday accepted the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the Union Council of Ministers with immediate effect, acting on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
An official communiqué issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan said the resignation has been accepted under Article 75(2) of the Constitution, which empowers the President to remove a minister on the advice of the Prime Minister.

Following the resignation, President Murmu has assigned Cabinet Minister Pralhad Joshi the additional charge of the Ministry of Education. He will continue to discharge the responsibilities of his existing ministry while also overseeing the Education Ministry until further orders.
Notably, the development marks the first change in the Union Council of Ministers since the formation of the present government.
